At Maruti Industries Pune, we manufacture Diesel Exhaust Fluid (D.E.F) with ISO 22241 Standard with all Quality Parameters. Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is used as a consumable in vehicles fitted with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after-treatment device, to lower NOx concentration in the exhaust emissions from diesel engines. KoolOn DEF is essential for the correct operation of SCR after-treatment device used in diesel engines, to meet BS IV and BS VI norms.
– 67.5% deionized water
– 32.5% urea (a nitrogen compound)
– Derived from urine but synthetically produced for mass use.
– Most DEF products are regulated by the American Petroleum Institute.
– When DEF is injected into hot exhaust, water evaporates, leaving ammonia and isocyanic acid.
– DEF is used as a NOx reducing agent in vehicles with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to meet emission standards.
– Clear, non-toxic, and environmentally safe liquid.
– Not a fuel or fuel additive.
– Mandatory for BS-IV & BS-VI engine variants with SCR systems.
